St. Norbert College has announced the addition of four new undergraduate majors beginning with the Fall 2027 semester: applied artificial intelligence, nutrition, business analytics, and data science.

The programs were approved by the College’s Board of Trustees in May and are now pending approval from the Higher Learning Commission. Each major is meticulously designed to prepare students for rapidly growing, high-demand careers while preserving the personalized, values-based education that defines the St. Norbert College experience.

“These new majors offer SNC students access to cutting-edge curriculum and the skills employers increasingly seek, while maintaining the personalized attention and the Catholic, Norbertine, liberal arts education that defines the St. Norbert College experience,”

Anindo Choudhury, Interim Vice President and Chief Academic Officer

The new applied artificial intelligence major will provide students with practical, hands-on experience using a range of AI tools and technologies across industries. Students will learn how to build custom AI systems, design neural architectures, fine-tune large language models, engineer effective prompts, and create data visualizations to communicate insights and results, while developing the critical thinking skills needed to address the ethical implications of AI adoption.

The nutrition major equips students to address global health challenges through food science, medical nutrition therapy, and wellness strategies. The program aligns with the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) Registered Dietitian certification pathways, and prepares students for graduate study or careers in community health, food systems, and nutrition education.

The new business analytics major offers students a more business-focused pathway into the fast-growing analytics field while still providing comprehensive training in data analysis and decision-making tools.

The data science major complements the college’s expanding analytics and technology offerings by preparing students to analyze complex datasets, build predictive models and AI tools, and uncover actionable insights through statistical and computational methods.

The programs will use a combination of in-person and selected online courses, providing students with flexibility while maintaining the benefits of in-person instruction and campus engagement.
