Popular SearchesPRESS RELEASEMinton Awarded Undergraduate Research Fellowship Posted on Dec. 8, 2016St. Norbert College student Nicole Minton (Appleton, Wis.) has been selected by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) as a 2016 recipient of an ASM Undergraduate Research Fellowship. Minton is a junior student majoring in biology.
The fellowship is aimed at highly competitive students who wish to pursue graduate careers in microbiology. Fellows have the opportunity to conduct full-time summer research at their home institution with an ASM mentor and present their research results at the 2017 ASM Microbe Meeting in New Orleans. Minton is one of twelve students from undergraduate- and graduate-level universities in the country to receive a fellowship.
The ASM is the largest single life science society, composed of over 48,000 scientists and health professionals. With a mission to promote and advance the microbial sciences, the ASM enhances laboratory capacity around the world through training and resources, providing a network for scientists in academia, industry and clinical settings.
