Joseph Tullbane, associate dean for international education and outreach/ director of the

center for international education at St. Norbert College, will lecture on "Threat

Assessment in the World" as part of the Great Decisions Lecture Series. The lecture will

take place on Wednesday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fort Howard Theater of the F. K.

Bemis International Center on the St. Norbert College campus. He is the final speaker of

the 2013 Great Decisions series.

Prior to his entry into academia, Tullbane worked in the private sector as an analyst

consultant on Russian, Eurasian and Eastern European politics, economics and security

issues. He gained his regional expertise during a military career that spanned 23 years,

including postings to Moscow and Madrid. He has lived in both Europe and Asia, and

traveled extensively through Eurasia, Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Tullbane will discuss the art of successful threat assessment that is critical to projecting

America's future military, economic and foreign policy needs. He will look at how this is

accomplished and the view of the world threat assessment in the next few years.

Great Decisions is a nationwide program that brings together local, regional and national

experts in an eight-week lecture series discussing international issues of interest to the

community.

Topics for the series are selected by the Foreign Policy Association of America and are

intended to provide a local forum for discussion on current political and economic issues.

The speakers are selected by participating colleges and universities. St. Norbert College

is one of three schools in Wisconsin that present the entire series.
