Starting first-year students on the right track

We'll help you get all of your courses set for your first semester at SNC. This starts with a short advisement survey to get to know you better, followed by the necessary placement testing and an advising appointment to schedule classes.

Course registration for our first-year students begins in May and runs through the summer.

Incoming students first need to complete a short advisement survey to help your summer advisor get to know more about you and your your academic interests. Check your email for the link to the survey, or email advise@snc.edu to receive it.

After choosing your day and time for a one-hour session, you’ll meet virtually with an academic advisor to select courses for your first semester at SNC. Watch your SNC email for a link to sign up and then a confirmation to follow once your appointment is secured.

Students will complete three placement assessments before registering for classes: Math, Language and Writing. These will help us determine the best courses for a successful first semester.

“I'd walk into my classrooms and all of my professors would know my name before the end of the first week of class. And they make an effort to get to know you, they make an effort to encourage you.”
