Popular SearchesAboutTodd Sarnstrom teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of data analytics, analysis and statistics. His current research and scholarship includes studying firm-level foreign direct investment behavior using data on Japanese multinational enterprises, as well as studying hidden immigrant populations via the Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS). His most recent publications appeared in the Review of International Economics, and the Journal of Economics, Race, and Policy. Todd also contributes to SNC’s Center for Business and Economic Analysis.
Todd grew up in the small town of Ellsworth, located in west central Wisconsin. He became interested in economics during his first year of undergraduate studies and earned his Ph.D. in applied economics from Western Michigan University in 2016. He takes particular interest in data analysis as it applies to economics and business. Prior to academia, Todd worked for a start-up company that developed polymers and composites. There he was involved in many things, including new-product development, production trials, inventory management and rolling out a new ERP system.
