The St. Norbert College curling team had a strong showing at nationals in Boston March 8-10.

After an impressive regular season, which included three bonspiel wins, the Green Knights were ranked in the top 16 in the country and earned a national championship bid.

St. Norbert defeated the University of Nebraska and Hamilton College at nationals and lost to Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), finishing sixth overall.

Team members include Ben Gibson (Hazelhurst, Wis.), Michael Van Natta (Minocqua, Wis.), Joe R. Wells (Keller, Texas), Alex Grover (Delavan, Wis.) and Evan Mathu (Wrightstown, Wis.).

“We were very happy to attend the national championships for the third consecutive year and performed well. The team is excited for next year and plan to return to nationals again, stronger than ever,” said Grover.
