St. Norbert College students can get on the fast track for a law degree by taking advantage of the 3+3 academic partnership between St. Norbert and Marquette Law School. The academic program will allow St. Norbert undergraduate students to enroll at Marquette Law School after completing only three years of education (99 credits) at St. Norbert. Traditionally, earning a bachelor’s degree followed by a law degree would take a student seven years.
St. Norbert 3+3 students will be able to apply to Marquette University during their junior year. Those who are admitted will move directly into Marquette's law program. Once they have successfully completed all requirements during their first year of law school at Marquette, they will be able to transfer 29 credits back to St. Norbert to achieve a baccalaureate degree at St. Norbert College.
Students will then have two additional years of law school at Marquette before receiving their juris doctor degree from Marquette Law School, all in six total years – saving students a full year of college tuition.
Requirements
Admission to the 3+3 law school partnership will be limited to those who have earned a cumulative high school grade-point average (GPA) of 3.75. Students must be admitted to the partnership program by the conclusion of their first year at St. Norbert.
Applications
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, but for first consideration, the priority deadline is May 1. Submit your application.

The program requires students seeking a pre-law certificate to complete sixteen credits divided among four areas and a zero-credit assessment course to be completed during the final semester of a candidate’s program of study. Area 1 introduces students to theories and concepts related to the law and legal interpretation. Area 2 helps to develop critical skills related to logical and critical thinking that are particularly applicable to the practice of the law. Areas 3 and 4 provide students the opportunity to explore the many-faceted field of the law through both empirical and normative approaches to their studies. The intention is to encourage students from a variety of majors to think seriously about their interest in the practice of law and to guide them in selecting particularly applicable electives over and above their major. A GPA of 3.0 or better is required to be awarded the pre-law certificate*This pathway is to be used as a guide. Refer to the Course Catalog for official degree requirements.
