AboutAaron Popkey is director of public affairs for the Green Bay Packers and an adjunct instructor of communication and media studies at St. Norbert College. A veteran member of the Packers’ leadership team with more than three decades of experience, he oversees external communications and media relations for all non-football departments, serves as the club’s primary spokesperson and contributes to football communications.
During his tenure, he has been involved in many of the organization’s most significant milestones, including Super Bowls XXXI, XXXII and XLV; the redevelopment and expansion of Lambeau Field; development of the Titletown district; and the 2025 NFL Draft. He also helped produce projects marking the Packers’ 100th season.
Popkey previously worked in football communications, coordinating media relations for the club’s general manager, head coach and players, including several Pro Football Hall of Famers.
In addition to his role at SNC, he teaches at the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication. In the classroom, he brings real-world experience to courses in sports media, strategic communications and the evolving media landscape.
He has a longstanding personal connection to St. Norbert College and the De Pere community, including graduating from Abbot Pennings High School, which was located on campus where Schneider Family Hall now stands, and being married at Old St. Joe’s, where two of his children were also baptized.
