Learning Object: How an Article Makes an Argument

Research shows that most students struggle with the research process and find synthesizing different perspectives to be challenging and disorienting. The same is true here at St. Norbert College because this is a normal part of the student experience. Students who have begun exploring sources may feel confused, anxious, annoyed, or stressed in other ways. 

In these kinds of situations (whether in personal or academic settings), reinforcing a few strategies and ways of thinking or habits of mind can help students move forward confidently. This video and the supplemental materials provided will get them started and facilitate further conversations in the classroom.
