First-Year Seminar

The First-Year Seminar creates an active community of learners, bringing small groups of students together with faculty – a maximum of 15 students per class – with an emphasis on individual attention and collaborative learning.

Each section focuses on a carefully chosen topic designed to provide students with thoughtful dialogue in an intellectually challenging environment, built on mutual esteem and trust, that offers opportunities for belonging.
