About Peace Meals

A four-part small group dialogue program with dinner is held each semester. Open to all St. Norbert students, but because space is limited, application (by nomination) and registration is required.

Across cultures and religious traditions, sharing a meal around the table is commonplace. Who we invite – or choose not to invite – to the table holds meaning. Today, when people do not know each other, broad assumptions and judgments are made, often based on minimal truth and little understanding. As a result, individuals and communities can become disconnected and suspicious of one another.

Olive Branch Peace Meals offers a path forward to build community and understanding across lines of divisions – from religion, race, culture, political affiliation, gender, and other aspects of identity – by gathering at the common table for food, friendship, and hospitality.
