Many of the area’s top businesses and organizations come to the St. Norbert campus to recruit a new generation of leaders. Our Career Services office will work with you to establish a schedule and a process that will meet your needs and put you in touch with prepared, qualified candidates.Here’s What We’ll Do
In addition to helping you establish a schedule, we’ll also:
- Publicize your interview schedule information and position description(s) on our website and within the campus community via e-mail and other resources.
- Give you access to password-protected web-based résumés so you can consider candidates prior to the interview.
- Help candidates be well prepared for their interviews.
- Register for Career Connections and post your position descriptions.
- Establish your on-campus recruiting schedule. October through early December and February through early May are the most popular times, and we ask you to set up your schedule four weeks in advance of the actual interview dates.
- Help cultivate your candidate pool. As an active on-campus recruiter, you will have access to résumés of potential candidates who have expressed interest in your field. Employers who encourage candidate participation generally have more successful schedules.
- Complete an interview critique sheet for each candidate. These sheets are confidential and anonymous on your part and are used to help students improve interviewing skills.
- Help us uphold National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) principles, which include avoiding illegal questions and refraining from making alcohol part of the recruiting process.
- Share the outcome with us! Drop us a line or call us to let us know whom you hired.
On Recruiting Day …
- Arrive on campus 15-30 minutes before your interview time and check in with Career Services.
- Review the recruiter packet we provide.
- Let the office know if you would like someone to join you for lunch.
- Let us know if you have any needs such as beverages, use of a phone, climate control.
- After the interview, please return the interview critique sheets to Career Services.
- Please tell us about your hiring time frame and the next steps in the interview process. The more we know, the better we can support you with our students.
