Bethel Pulls Away From St. Norbert Late

ST. PAUL, Minn. - St. Norbert College surrendered a pair of late empty-net goals allowing Bethel University to pull away for a 5-2 win over the Green Knights in a non-conference game at TRIA Rink.
The Green Knights fell behind 2-0 in the first period behind a Royals' power-play goal by Bailey Thompson at 3:52 and a goal by Courtney Johnson at 15:07. St. Norbert halved its deficit when Eve Parker scored unassisted at 18:07 for her fourth goal of the year.
Bethel got the goal back wen Bri Stafne scored at 4:36 of the second period, a marker that would hold up for a 3-1 lead after two periods. St. Norbert would get back to within one when Ava Jaschke scored her first goal of the year off a Parker assist by potting the puck at 17:42. The Royals then iced the game with empty-net goals by Kennedi Mitchell at 18:16 and Makenzie Baker at 19:32.
Bethel outshot St. Norbert 25-21, with the Green Knights holding a 19-11 advantage in the last two periods. Evi Johnson made 20 saves for the Green Knights, while Baliegh Shuck made 19 stops for the Royals.
St. Norbert was 0-for-3 on the power play, while Bethel was 1-for-2.
