Green Knights Salvage Series Split With Blugolds

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College gained a split of its two-game Northern Collegiate Hockey Association series against UW-Eau Claire with a 4-1 triumph at the Cornerstone Community Center's Resch Olympic Pavilion.
The Green Knights (2-3, 1-1 NCHA) put the game away early connecting on three first-period goals. Andrea Senne scored her second goal of the season at the 11 minutes 51 seconds mark, and Ali Parker scored 19 seconds later for a 2-0 edge. Jade Popescul put home a power-play goal at the 18:54 mark of the period.
St. Norbert and Eau Claire (1-4-1, 1-3) didn't score in the second period, and the Green Knights made it 4-0 early in the third. Parker scored her second goal of the game and her fourth of the year at 1:35 of the period. The Blugolds got a consolation goal with 5:09 left on a long shot by Emily Larson.
The Green Knights received a strong goaltending performance from Kaley Gibson, who made 25 saves - including 19 in the first two periods. St. Norbert was 1-for-3 on the power play and held a 32-26 shots advantage.
Morgan Pieper made 28 saves for Eau Claire, which was 0-for-4 on the power play.
