Question:
Dear Abbot Pennings,
Can you tell me, what’s this year’s Homecoming theme?
Thank you,
Casey Wopat ’07
Answer:
My dearest Casey,
Oh, how I adore Homecoming! I take such great pleasure in welcoming home our beloved alumni every fall.
This grand celebration has had many creative themes over the decades, and this year is no exception. As always, a plethora of student events lead up to the big game on Saturday, Oct. 13, and this year they take Children’s Cartoons as their theme. (If I recall correctly, the Homecoming theme your senior year was Reality TV Shows. Does my memory serve me well?)
You’ll be delighted to know that your friends in the office of alumni and parent relations have many events in store for you and your classmates. Be sure to gather your friends and stop by the parade party, all-alumni tailgate and post-game block party. The classes of 1972 and 1987 are holding special reunions as well.
I only have one favor to ask of you and all my alumni readers. If you come to campus for Homecoming, I do hope you’ll consider paying me a visit in the Mulva Library. You know how I love posing for photos with you!
