Humans of St. Norbert:

“[I interned] with the Green Bay Booyah last summer. I was an operations intern so pretty much during the day I would work on projects around the stadium. Anything that needed to be fixed, I would help with that, or regular maintenance like cutting the grass, cleaning. When I am older, I want to get into operations and managing people. I also love baseball so [the internship] was a win-win all around.

“I played a little at St. Norbert my freshman year, but I wanted to focus on school so I quit the team, and I also played in high school all four years with the varsity team. One day, the interns were playing catch and hitting on the field. I talked with my boss and told him that I had experience. A bunch of the catchers on the team had to go back to school early for COVID purposes and they needed someone to help catch in the bullpen so I had the opportunity to dress up and help the team out. I thought it was a joke at first when my boss asked me if I wanted to help the team, but it became a reality! It was actually funny because earlier in the day, I was still doing internship stuff like taking out the trash and cleaning. Then at night, I got to ride with the team on the bus down to Fond du Lac. All the bosses and all the other interns came down and they had a fat head of my face on a board and had a custom jersey. It was a cool, unforgettable moment!

“My favorite part of the internship was definitely being able to be a part of something during COVID. We hosted over 17,000 people over the summer and there was never a case tracked back to any of the events so that was a rewarding experience. In terms of being able to catch, it was something that was very surprising. I thought I would never be able to get the gear back on until I was older playing in an adult league so it was definitely awesome.” – Griffin Strang ’22
