Humans of St. Norbert:
“I am a swimming nerd. I love swimming and all the nitty gritty of it. This is an incredibly challenging, difficult sport. How fast you go is how many strokes you take multiplied by how fast you take those strokes. That’s really easy math. If you can figure out how to control those two variables, you can swim whatever time you want to swim. There’s more that goes into it, though, like nutrition, rest time and all that. I think in many sports, the sport was created because it was fun. Sports where you need a team, sports where there's a ball, most of those sports happen because they’re fun and you want to be with people. You either succeed or fail together. There may be a few stand outs, but you’re kind of the average of what everybody does. Swimming is a sport that is radically different. You may spend a lot of time with the people around you, but what it boils down to is that you are alone in that lane. It’s up to you to make it happen.”
