From time to time, we like to showcase a new SNC grad who’s entered the workplace or grad school. Success stories like these are pretty common. In fact, 95 percent of SNC's Class of 2022 alumni who responded to a survey said they were employed, in grad school or doing service work within nine months of graduating.

You majored in business administration with a focus on international business. What led you down that path?

My dad has been in sales and management his whole life, and he’s always been an inspiration to me, through his hard work, the things he’s involved in, his personality and all that. I feel like I could echo that with my personality, and I feel like sales would be a great fit for me. And I’ve always loved traveling and always had the travel bug. So international business was the perfect storm for me. My goal while working at CenturyLink is to work in Chicago for about eight months, to learn the ropes, and then hopefully move to Great Britain with the company, or just see where life takes me because I have that international option open.

How did you get connected with CenturyLink?

I started with an internship during the summer of my sophomore year, and then worked there the next summer as an intern as well. They extended a full-time job offer to me at the end of my second summer. And I loved working there, so it was perfect.

Were you able to fit in travel experiences during your time at St. Norbert?

I did! I studied abroad in Australia. That was incredible. I was there for 4-1/2 months; traveled all over the place; scuba-dove the Great Barrier Reef; did all that fun, cool stuff. It was honestly the experience of a lifetime. It was super easy to transfer my credits back, too. My advisor communicated with Bond University in Australia and kind of went back and forth a little bit to make sure all my classes were aligned with the classes at St. Norbert, and everything worked out perfectly.

You also held a job on campus …

I worked with Catering & Event Services since my second year, just to have extra money. It was a fun job. I loved it, and it was an awesome way to meet people. It was great to have employment right here on campus, to be able to have a job so I could have a little bit of money coming my way while at college. St. Norbert does an incredible job making that so easy. It’s a small college with a very big-college feel: There’s so much you can get involved in and do, from student groups to jobs on campus.

What about St. Norbert stands out to you the most?

President Brian Bruess and his wife, Carol, are probably two of the best people I’ve ever met. They ask me how I’m doing and what I have going on, and they want to be involved in what students do here. I’ve gotten to know them really well. They treat the school as more of a family. From the top down, people here care about me personally. It’s a very tight-knit group at this college. The people I’ve met here are incredible, and they inspire me to be the best version of myself that I can be.
