Spring Semester Is in Full Swing
Dear St. Norbert Families:
We’ve been back in session for a few weeks. I hope your students are finding some ways to have fun, and that their semester has started off positively!
Even though February is the shortest month, it sometimes feels like the longest while we’re all stuck inside. We have plenty of college activities, though, so please tell your students to check out mySNC to find out what’s happening on campus.
FAFSA
We know that it’s still slow-going for the new version of the FAFSA. Hopefully, you’ve been able to access and complete the form. Last week, the government announced that the release of FAFSA information to colleges and universities will be delayed until the middle of March. Once the office of financial aid receives FAFSA information from the federal government, they will work to release official financial aid offers for continuing students. This process will likely begin in May. You can stay tuned to our FAFSA Watch website for the most recent updates related to the 2024-25 FAFSA or, as always, contact your financial aid counselor with questions.
Housing Lottery for 2024-25
I’m already hearing students talk to one another about potentially being roommates next year. This is one area where students are thinking ahead. If your student will be a sophomore and is interested in the Michels Hall Service Program, they’ve already had a chance to apply. Upperclassmen interested in Residential Themed Communities have already been able to apply for housing as well.
All of the other living options will have their housing application open on March 4. Based on the lottery number received, students will choose their housing for next year sometime in early April. Even if your student plans on commuting, there’s an application that needs to be completed. Be sure to check out our housing site for more information, and check out this article on demystifying and de-stressing the housing lottery.
Spring Break
It will be spring break before you know it! The last day of classes is Friday, March 8. Classes resume on Monday, March 18. Most students return from spring break to their residence hall on Sunday. If your student needs access to their residence hall over break, they should contact Residential Education & Housing. You can always find the academic calendar on our website.
Dean’s List
You may have seen the dean’s list from fall semester already. We shared it on the college’s social media sites and know a lot of folks have shared it, too. In case you haven’t seen the dean’s list for Fall 2023, check it out here.
