A Message from President Joyner
Dear Parents,
As we welcomed proud families at last month’s Trustee Day 2024, honoring the academic achievements of their newly admitted students, I thought of you. Behind any successful student one generally finds dedicated parents: Your support and inspiration help your student excel in the classroom, on the field, and in their service to the wider community. They couldn’t do it without you – and neither could we.
You know that St. Norbert College is a community centered around the Norbertine value of communio — a commitment to unity and belonging. Communio isn’t just a word on paper; it’s the heartbeat of our campus, creating an environment where each student is valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. We help our students develop the skills and character needed to impact the world positively, and we’re passionate about guiding them toward success. We do it as a team – every one of us on campus joined by parents, families, alumni and others in this good work.
This unity of purpose serves us well. In a rapidly-changing higher education landscape, St. Norbert College is not only evolving, it’s flourishing. From the construction of our state-of-the-art business building set to begin this spring to the development of new majors and minors in business and the sciences, we continue to provide students with the best resources and opportunities to excel in their chosen fields.
To be sure, challenges exist. This past semester our college successfully navigated the stormy seas most other institutions are facing. We will continue to do so, buoyed by the unifying spirit of communio, through which we will emerge even stronger.
As I’ve mentioned, parents like you are partners in this endeavor. Now more than ever, St. Norbert College needs you – to stand with the entire community to support the best future for the college. For 125 years, the brightest young minds have come to this special place to discover, grow and realize their dreams. Together, we can continue to offer that great gift to new generations – for the next 125 years and beyond.
I am honored to lead this remarkable institution as we work with commitment toward such a future, and I am honored to have you along on the journey.
Sincerely,
Laurie M. Joyner, Ph.D.
President
