Sven Carstensen, 7, Svenner, Swen, Skippy, and so much more...
With a smile that lit up a room and a contagious laugh, Sven made each day brighter. He was a St. Norbert wonder - a Chemistry major, a PW Club member, a No Nonsense and SNC campus Uglyman, a friend - he was family. He loved to hunt and fish, travel, and spend time with the people and pets he loved. He made friends everywhere.
Sven graduated from Gresham High School in 1989 and chose to attend St. Norbert College. He graduated from SNC with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry in 1993. He then moved to Houghton, Michigan to attend Michigan Technological University and completed a Master of Science degree in chemistry in 1995. He began his career as a formulating chemist and then moved into chemical sales where he traveled the country on a regular basis, making new friends along the way.
After a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer, we lost Sven on November 3, 2021.
We want to recognize the joy that Sven brought to our lives, by honoring him on campus. This page is dedicated to raising funds in memory of Sven. Donations here will be used to purchase a bench, trees and plaque on St. Norbert College's campus in Sven's memory. Any excess funds will be donated to the SNC Annual Scholarship Fund in Sven's memory.
