SNC Human Library
Wed., Feb. 15, 2017, 6-8 p.m., Mulva Library 

Presenters: Community members from around the Greater Green Bay area share their stories from the margins as “human books.” 

Description: A library made of “human books” who volunteer to share their stories of prejudice and discrimination. Readers listen to human books and engage in transformative conversations. St. Norbert is Wisconsin’s first human library. Co-sponsored by Cassandra Voss Center and Miriam B. & James J. Mulva Library.

Why the Human Library?
The Human Library International Organization believes when humans share their stories of prejudice and discrimination, it “promotes dialogue and encourages understanding.”

The Human Library enables groups to break stereotypes by challenging the most common prejudices in a positive and humorous manner. It is a concrete, easily transferable and affordable way of promoting tolerance and understanding.

It is a “keep it simple”, “no-nonsense” contribution to social cohesion in multicultural societies. Read more about the history on the Human Library website.
