Students, faculty and staff of St. Norbert College will celebrate and serve on "Make It a Day On, Not a Day Off," its Martin Luther King Jr. day of service on Monday, Jan. 14. The college is holding its day of service a week earlier than the national day of service because classes are in session on the national day (Jan 21).
The event involves a day of service to the local community, during which members of the St. Norbert community will teach elementary students about King's message of respect for others and assist area social service agencies dedicated to serving those in need.

A few of this year's service sites include the St. Vincent de Paul store, Paul's Pantry, Green Bay Habitat for Humanity ReStore, National Railroad Museum, and Tsyunhehkwa Oneida farm. A curriculum developed by Arketype Inc. will be utilized as part of the educational sessions in the elementary schools, including Westwood, Notre Dame and Hemlock Creek schools in De Pere.
The Martin Luther King Jr. day of service is endorsed by the administration of St. Norbert College. For more information, contact Nancy Mathias at nancy.mathias@snc.edu or 920-403-3363.
