St. Norbert College to Present Evening of Stravinsky Concert

The St. Norbert College music department will present their Evening of Stravinsky concert on Thursday, March 6, at 7:30 p.m. at Dudley Birder Hall, 400 Grant St., De Pere. The concert is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature the award-winning piano duo Stanislava Varshavski and Diana Shapiro performing original transcriptions "The Rite of Spring" and "Petrouchka." The concert will also feature a 20 minute presentation.

The pianists have performed in the Czech Republic, Germany, China, Israel, Italy, Poland, Russia and the U.S. Varshavski and Shapiro have also appeared with number of well-known orchestras such as the Radio Orchestra in Munich, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra, Moravian Chamber Orchestra and New World Symphony Orchestra of Miami.

Varshavski and Shapiro received DMA degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
