St. Norbert Finishes Series Sweep in Big Way

DE PERE - St. Norbert College extended its winning streak to 15 games with a convincing 12-0 win over Finlandia University to finish a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association series sweep at Cornerstone Community Center.

The Green Knights (4-0, 4-0 NCHA) scored five goals in the first period and six in the second stanza to close out the win.

Michael Hill scored two goals in the first period, including a power-play marker at the 17:05 mark to give the Green Knights a 3-0 lead. Erik Cooper, Tyler Zepeda and Mason Baptista also scored goals in the first 20 minutes.

Sean Campbell put St. Norbert ahead 6-0 just 29 seconds into the second period, his first collegiate goal. Cullen Bradshaw, Blake Thompson and Mitch Amatto scored in succession, and Noah Nelson scored the final two goals of the second period for an 11-0 lead.

Tanner Froese closed out the scoring with the only marker of the third period.

Bradshaw added three assists for a four-point game, while Froese had two assists for a three-point night. Nelson and Hill also each had an assist for three-point games.

St. Norbert outshot Finlandia 46-8, tying a school record for fewest shots on goal in the game. Tony Kujava made all eight stops for the Green Knights to post the shutout. Three Finlandia netminders saw action: Andrew Brownlee with 13 saves in the first period, Walker Enstad with nine stops in the second period, and Jordan Marr with 12 saves in the third period.

St. Norbert was 1-for-4 on the power play, while Finlandia was 0-for-3.
