RIPON - St. Norbert College posted a 1-0 win over Ripon College in a key Midwest Conference match at Prairie Field.

The Green Knights (10-5-2, 7-1-1 MWC) clinched a berth in the four-team MWC Tournament to be played the weekend of Nov. 6-8 at the league champion. St. Norbert can clinch its first MWC title since 2007 with a win or a tie Sunday at Lake Forest College. A loss could send the Green Knights to the No. 4 seeding.

St. Norbert is currently tied for first place with Carroll University at 22 points, but the Pioneers have finished conference play. No other team behind the Green Knights could catch them in points should St. Norbert gain at least a tie on Sunday.

St. Norbert outshot the Red Hawks 10-2 in the first half but couldn't find the back of the net. The Green Knights broke through at the 68-minute mark, when Tyler Kassube scored his eighth goal of the season on a penalty kick.

The Green Knights ended up outshooting Ripon 25-3 and also held an 11-1 edge in corner kicks. Eddie Sanchez made three saves for St. Norbert, while Jimmy Amedeo had 16 stops for the Red Hawks.
