Sisler, Boockmeier Shine in Decathlon at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa - St. Norbert College track and field standouts Dan Sisler and Brad Boockmeier fared well competing in the decathlon at the 106th Annual Drake Relays at Drake Stadium.

In an event featuring 25 competitors, including several highly regarded unattached and NCAA Division I athletes, Sisler finished 17th and Boockmeier 19th overall. However, Sisler's 6,417 points is currently fifth this season among NCAA Division III decathletes, while Boockmeier's' total of 6,304 is seventh.

Sisler's best first-day event was the 100-meter dash, turning in a time of 11,59 seconds for 734 points. Sisler also had a long jump of 21 feet 7 1/2 inches to score 718 points. On the second day, Sisler had a time of 16.59 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles to register 668 points. He also had a discus throw of 120-10 to register 600 points.

Boockmeier's best event on day one was the 100-meter dash, posting a time of 11.44 seconds for 765 points. His shot put best throw of 42-4 3/4 earned him 635 points. Boockmeier had a second-day best of 745 points after turning in a time of 15.89 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles. He also collected 679 points after a discus throw of 133-7.
