JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - St. Norbert College stayed unbeaten in the Midwest Conference with a convincing 72-45 win over Illinois College at Bruner Center.

The Green Knights (8-2, 5-0 MWC) lead Carroll University and Beloit College by one game in the loss column of the MWC standings heading into the holiday break. Illinois College dropped to 5-4, 3-2.

Jill Kleiman gave St. Norbert a lead it would never relinquish when she canned a 3-pointer for a 10-7 lead. The Green Knights led 17-9 before a quick 6-0 run by the Lady Blues cut the score to 17-15 with 8:35 left in the half. St. Norbert went on a 9-0 from that points to take a 26-15 lead.

Mallory Nickerson, Stephanie Weigman and Heidi Van Sistine started the run before neither team scored for about a 3-minute stretch. Kleiman split a pair of free throws and Tasha Giese finished off the run with a fast-break layup. St. Norbert led 29-19 at halftime.

Illinois College wouldn't be able to cut into the deficit in the second half, as the Green Knights opened the period on a 7-0 run, with four points coming from Brianna Byrne. The Lady Blues would get to within 44-30 with 12:54 to go, but St. Norbert would eventually take a 58-34 lead over the next 4:22 to salt away the win.

Kleiman led St. Norbet with 17 points, while Byrne added 15 points and Weigman 10 points with seven rebounds. St. Norbert shot 49.1 percent (27-for-55) from the floor and outrebounded the Lady Blues 42-33.

Illinois College was led by Hannah McGinnis, the reigning MWC Player of the Year, who finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds. The Lady Blues shot 30.5 percent (18-for-59) from the floor.
